FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) Forms Strategic Partnership with The Executive Centre (TEC)
Partnership offers benefits to FTAHK Members through events and access to TEC products
Follows shift from co-working to premium office space as FinTech industry matures in Hong Kong
The FinTech sector in HK has grown from 160 companies in 2016, to over 600 in 2020
The Executive Centre (TEC), the leading premium flexible workspace provider across the world’s fastest growing economies of Asia Pacific and the Middle East, has formed a strategic partnership with FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) to further support the growth and development of one of Hong Kong’s fastest growing industries. TEC will provide office space to FTAHK and offer exclusive discounts on products and services to all FTAHK Members.
The partnership underscores the evolution of the FinTech sector in Hong Kong, which has grown from 160 FinTech and startup companies in 2016 to over 600 companies this year. The composition of the FinTech sector has also changed as start-ups have matured and have been joined by traditional finance institutions entering the space. This trend has increased demand for premium / luxury office space with high quality technology infrastructure that still offers flexibility for companies to adapt their space as they grow.
“As the world continues to adapt to the unprecedented challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, more companies are placing higher value on workplace flexibility. We definitely see an emerging trend of FinTech companies in Hong Kong turning to flexible workspace as they want high quality space that is close to their clients.” said TEC Founder and CEO, Paul Salnikow.
“We are excited to join hands with FTAHK to help more FinTech companies incorporate flexible solutions into their real estate portfolio. Through this partnership, we will be able to emphasise our commitment to provide our Members with premium services, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals within our global network.” said Nadia Zhu, City Head of TEC Hong Kong.
The FTAHK’s goal is to elevate Hong Kong’s status as a FinTech hub. It aims to provide direction for FinTech activity in Hong Kong, representing and linking all organisations that have an interest in the area, including startups, FSIs, academia, Government, investors, corporates and accelerators.
“With the accelerated pace of digital transformation we are seeing across the FinTech sectors, flexibility in office solutions will be important. FinTech Association of Hong Kong is delighted to partner with The Executive Centre to drive forward the “future of work” solutions.” said Benjamin Quinlan, FTAHK Chairman.
